Have no idea how much more hp it gives me but with both dB killers in the bike is still a bit more fresh than with stock exhausts. And without both they are just too loud.

Selina do you have the same cans? - do you have both in?

I have similar cans to selina, (actually 150mm shorter) with just the standard db killers in the cans themselves. Lot louder than stock cans but not too loud for me. Everybody has different ideas of what is too loud and what isnt :icon_lol:. Way too loud without them though, would attract tooo much attention off plod. Never heard of anybody putting extra db killers "pre can".
Like you I have also been impressed with mtc's service and quality.

Hiya pete,

I have the standard length round MTC cans, if you look on their price list then the cheapest that can be bought from 'em. Came with standard baffles, (db killers) which are removable with an allen key, never tried it without the baffles but keep meaning to one of these days just for the laugh....but know for sure will be 'plod-pullingly' loud. And as I like to bimble around back lanes and villages I'd prefer not to cause offence to the inhabitants.

I don't think in standard trim the MTCs are loud at all, but it does depend on your perspective as mentioned in earlier posts - i find the standard exhaust offensive and wouldn't expect that sort of noise to come out of anything more substantial than a domestic microwave oven. In the UK we should have the option to buy our Japanese bikes discounted without exhausts seeing as they are an ugly waste of money and should immediately be resigned to the bin. Noticed recently that there are options to buy your new Yamaha with Akro's as an option and I don't imagine it's purely a Yamaha thing.

Oh - by the way - wanted to up my CO - and it was already at 126! - isnt it supposed to be around 15-20 at stock? As far as I remember from the CO adjusting tread it goes from -128 --> 128 - so I cant do that much adjusting...

Wow that was a lot... mine was set to 17, I upped to 25.

is that difference in length normal? or due to the self proclaimed impatience when fitting? Just curious as I'm lining up approval to buy a set but don't think that is too tidy. Anyone else got a length difference on the two cans?

I think it is a combination of both - When the pipes are new it is much easier to get the pipes to fit and to push them all the way to the bottom. I had used the pipes for a while before having to take them apart and fit the new silencing thingy - so there was some soot in the way - and didnt bother to remove it.
I am a very impatient non-perfectionistic person :toothy3:

Hi SpeedpeteDK;

Tell me did you ever grab some pics of the various db inserts?
I have aquired some MTC cans for my XT660R and find them a tad loud on long runs...

Cheers :-)
