Just had EXACTLY the same engine cutting out as the OP. Happened once at 1200 miles, & again yesterday at 3900 miles. Almost exact same conditions: clutch in whilst coasting from around 40 - 50 MPH towards a junction. Dash went blank: apparently no electricity, no warning lights, no error codes. Flat, straight, dry road. 10 degrees C outside temperature, not raining, humidity normal. Motor not cold, but had only ridden a couple of miles. I have a Koso rev counter - it shows idle speed around 1430 RPM when engine is properly warmed up. I suspect the de-compression system cut in, but why the power should cut also...... If it happens again, should I wind up the idle speed a bit, to a little over 1500RPM??? Thoughts?
Bike has no mechanical mods & is 2010 model year. |

how do you know when the idle is at 1500 rpm as it doesnt have a rev counter??????????
