DNA mod

I've learned that the best way to get more power in the XT660Z Tenere is to improve the air inlet side.
Is this DNA mod (which seems to replace the airbox) better than changing the filter for a K&N type?
How much better will the bike be if I go for a DNA and a chip to get the fueling sorted?
Thanks for advice again, I'm getting a bit excited about all the things I can do to improve my bike.

On a XT660Z the stage 3 DNA filter replaces the air box left side cover, it does not replace the whole air box.

Combining stage 1, 2 & 3 DNA filter mods you will produce more HP, more than any other filter set up.

Next weekend I'm going to fit a DNA stage 3 kit, kev stage 3 fuel mod and stainless exhaust to my tenere if you want to come to Basingstoke to see what the difference is like

You must have missed the thread mentioning my new to be released stage 3 fuel mod.

The new stage 3 fuel mod has been tested with my stage 3 air box on my XTX for a few weeks now, we have 11 guys testing the stage 3 fuel mod as we speak, it has a greater adjustment range & will work fine on the XTZ.

Kev - Are the dyno runs you have posted above from a bike with a fuelling mod (yours or a PC), or with DNA filters alone?

How close to hp is PS? Are we seeing a genuine 50hp at the rear wheel here?

Deeply impressive, if so!

The dyno print outs were posted for the benefit of piotrmacheta, they are with a PCIII.

Kev, I think I've missed loads and loads over the last month...... and this is one of them.

Nice one. It would be good to get it dyno'd to see how it compares with the PowerCommander, and maybe get some suggested settings ?

You need to under stand a fuelling mod is not a mod that produces big HP gains, it is used to correct the Air/Fuel ratio to get the most out of the mods added to ones bike. Every time you add a mod that effects the air flow in & out it will effect the Air/fuel ratio.

As mentioned before, a custom made fuel map using a Power Commander with stage 1 & 2 filters, carbon cans, only produced around 2.5 HP gain from a Power Commander alone.

On my standard XT660 with no mods completely standard, I got around 1.5HP gain in HP with a Power Commander.

My fuel mod comes with all settings explained on the installation CD.

Before I explain the difference for you, I would always recommend a Power Commander over any of the 10 fuelling mods that I know of for a XT660X/R/Z. In the end it mostly comes down to cost for the rider.

You can not really compare a Power Commander with my fuel mod. My fuel mod uses the Yamaha 3D fuel map, it is able to increase the fuelling across the whole rev range, it can reduce the A/F ratio by up to 0.7:1 to a safer A/F ratio. You do not need a dyno to set this mod up, it costs 10 times cheaper than a Power Commander which is set up with a custom made fuel map.

A Power Commander intercepts the signal to the injector & is able to rewrite the fuel map + or -, at any throttle opening/RPM. You need a dyno or A/F data logger to set up a Power Commander correctly, the cost of this can be hundreds of Pounds.
