Ard Panniers

Just visited Roger at Ard over the holiday period and ordered my panniers there and then, great guy and great well made panniers, they were ready in a week and at a great price. Fitting mine to TT racks. Just got to get back to blighty to fit them!

Baldrick 24-01-10 18:50

I've got some too

Got my Ard Case panniers 2 weeks ago and finally had a run out with them on today.

http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/x.../LGIM00333.jpg

They are great quality panniers are are mounted solidly onto my SW Motech QuickloCk EVO rack.

The panniers stick out the same width as the handlebars which is perfect.

I toook my rack to Roger and he did all the drilling and fitting for me at no extra cost, its worth doing that if you can get to him.

Many thanks Roger, sorry it took so long to post the pics I promised!

enduro374 25-01-10 09:40

Great link - thanks Guys.

He's 30 mins away, so will get over for a chat..

orangejohn 25-01-10 21:51

Roger made me a top box , custom size and colour for 150 - half the price of TT or Mule. Quality at an affordable price highly recommended.:112:

enduro374 25-01-10 23:43

Spoke to Roger today and will ride over for a chat and fit up in the next week or so, as I want to be sure everything's clear of the X Racing silencer etc..

enduro374 13-02-10 00:00

Well I've been over to ARD twice now and today just missed another Ten' heading over for some new boxes (I did see a black Ten' on the way back, so perhaps that was you?).

My boxes are made and we wanted to check the rack cleared the single silencer etc etc - which it does.

More racks on order and plan to have everything fitted in a few weeks.

I would agree with all the positive comments, Roger is very helpful and offers a good product and service. Handy he's so close too..

Will post pic's when everything's on.

Gory74 13-02-10 00:32

Yup that was me!

Hey, I saw the leg wave a moment to late to respond, I did have a good chuckle though.. Love that blue on your Ten too, I was tempted by that colour scheme but got too good a bargain on the black..

Ditto.. Roger is a top bloke! Stayed for a while and had a good chat.. I'm really happy with my panniers and he's a really helpful guy!! :026:
I'll post some pics in the next few days

Cheers Greg

Panniers ordered for my ten.......:SpinHappy_15XK8L:

enduro374 25-02-10 22:46

Greg

I missed your post somehow!! Where are your pic's then?

Back off to see Roger tomorrow to collect my boxes and rack. Have to collect my car from a bodyshop close by, so I'll take them home in the boot & fit them tomorrow night..

Pic's to follow.

Sounds like he's doing a few Ten's as he's fitting up another Ten tomorrow too.

dewill_sk 26-02-10 00:44

Hi Guys

Have some one got just a picture of the panier racks?

Do you know will they fit the TT ones?

jasext 26-02-10 09:45

Yes they will fit the tt ones as the holan frames that Roger sells are actually made by the same people as tt ,also you fit the mountig kit yourself and it is quite simple

dewill_sk 26-02-10 20:50

I have boxes www.bighusky.cz

i used them on my Varadero just need the racks.

Has enybody have a contact?????

Hi there
I have been trying to upload a picture of the rack but my computer will not let me .The racks should be the same as the Touratech (the hoop dimensions) so your boxes should fit ! The only problem would be the angle of the box in relation to the hoop . When you had them on your previous bike was the top of the box parralell to the hoop ? In my experience the top of the box on the Tenere is 3.5 inches above the top of the frame hoop .I can supply a rack for 160 +p/p .
Kind regards Roger

enduro374 26-02-10 22:36

I can recommend Roger's racks...and panniers!!

Thanks for the tea Roger.

These things are rock solid and fit a treat.

Very nice. Look sturdy as well. Now we need to do a camp to see how well they stand up and to see if you can just fill those and not take the rest of the household good with you. Remember you are only allowed one stuffa bag ion the back now and loose the top box!

Well done matey. Will be in touch about a night camping. Will pm.:headbang:

Nice Cases!

It is nice to see some high quality bespoke cases that will seriously challenge the others on the market. I wish I know of these before I shelled out for the full Touratech kit.

Hey guys.. It's taken me a while...and the pics are off my rubbish mobile but here are mine. The first pair actually fitted to a Ten by Roger himself..I think he may have a different mounting system since then? Thanks again. Absolutely brilliant!

Mike Wright 01-03-10 19:56

There good panniers I remember the very first set he made and if I recall sold them on the GS site a few years ago. I see they are fancier now and certainly great quality. Im sure will see them around the world on my travels.

enduro374 23-03-10 19:36

Very nice - I'm hoping I'll get the Yamaha top box on with the ARD cases, time will tell.

So what's behind the angled edges then?

theclowncrusty 23-03-10 23:35

Hi ENDURO, yes they are as good as they look. Not sure about angled outside edge, but think i heard something about being to prevent damage if you fall off.Crusty

uncle ricky 24-03-10 07:56

Very nice Crusty, now the big question how much, you can PM the anwser if you don't want it made public, the normal ones are 7 inches wide if I recall correctly

Hey enduro.. Personally I prefer the look..but i think it may also hurt less if i was ever smacked by the pannier corner in a fall?!

The other theory a mate had is it may be that little bit more aerodynamic, but with out a wind tunnel who knows!!

Greg

uncle ricky 24-03-10 10:47

Crusty I have just noticed that the customary plastic bag is missing off your number plate :HappyRoll_ANPIUI: :HappyRoll_ANPIUI: :HappyRoll_ANPIUI: :duckie:

Hi Ricky,
sorry for late reply but have been busy with this and that...... Panniers were 350 plus the cost of the rails. They have gone up a bit in price due to Rodger fitting locking clasps as standard now. Not sure if i paid more due to the extra width, i just told him what i wanted and he sorted it all out. VERY happy with them. See pics below for minor mods to get them more suited to my camping needs......

Steve i have got the picnic table sorted for the next time we have those big Feck Off Steaks!!! ALI plate was cut to size to fit inside the pannier by Rodger, (cant say enough good things about the service he provides...)
Got to get some straps for the 5 litre water bottles on the rear of the panniers for when we go free camping to Scotland.

I agree and I've seen them in the flesh. A bit miffed that he's pinched my idea for an extra table and beaten me to it!.

Hi all
Here are some pics of my latest boxes for Teneres .They are the same size at 8"wide 17"long 15" high .Lockable keyed alike catches .Fitting kit included .There is a price increase pending so grab yourself a bargain !!!

enduro374 08-04-10 20:22

So the sticker man came up trumps then Roger.. Looking good..

Have used my cases a few times now and they're superb - highly recommended..

Nelis 08-04-10 21:45

Too bad i already got the sw-motech ones.
I really like the new ARD cases.

steveD 08-04-10 22:51

Having now seen these panniers in the flesh I can thoroughly recommend them, quality is superb although I personally would have ones noy so wide. They crash well as well! Took a good hammering on a trail last weekend, a good product and a lot cheaper than my MM panniers.:smilies0119:
