The queue is growing in length for pipes, pegs and sump guards....

Where has wonky gone?

CaptMoto 30-10-09 10:20

I'd like to know too.

hi,
sorry for the suspense! had a really busy week.

ive replied to captmoto basically explaining that we cant offer the level of discount he wants to forum members. We price our own produced products really keenly (against what they cost us to make, they aint cheap) and dont sell to dealers, only selling direct worldwide. Therefore we can offer better stuff for the same price or less than 'other' companies.
I could offer the discount suggested if we increased all our prices in the shop, and then brought them down to our 'normal' price with a discount, but this seems stupid.
Consequently this post may get removed.

pegs and bash plate should be within the month. Id like to think we can get an e-marked pipe sorted in the same time, but as this is a new type of product for us cant be 100% (we are getting end cans from another company and basically making the 'link' pipe, just to be totally clear about how it will work)
cheers!

chris

Fantabulous! About the pipes and link pipes, pls pls come up with something that is light weight, eu3- compliant option, and the final look will align with the bike beautifully. I'm particularly unhappy with what available in the market as to my last and second last points, wink wink to Wonky. Look forward to your goodies.

Any chance of a full stainless header system them? Like someone else said rusty pipes look a bit naff but nowt you can do if you ride all winter and on Guernsey I expect the salty air to be just as bad (it's a killer for cars).

And something that doesn't stick out miles past the rear light would be nice! bigwink

I thought the stock pipes were stainless? They might be a low grade, but I thought they were stainless all the same?

They must be the extra quick rusting stainless then :)

I think my exhaust header pipes were rust free for all a week.

The whole point of stainless to me is that they don't RUST, I'm not interested in the shiny stuff, I'm chromaphobic :)

I dont need them to be chrome, i just dont like the orange.
I do like the blue colours that KTM has.

That's what I mean, if they are a low grade stainLESS they will corrode faster than a good grade. Stainless is exactly that, it stains less than mild steel. There are many different grades and they all have different properties and, obviously, costs.
You could make a set of headers reasonably cheaply (in comparison to titanium) from 316 food grade stainless steel and they wouldn't tarnish anywhere near as much. But they would cost a lot more than the stock headers do I'll warrant.
If the OE headers were mild then they would've been rotten by now.
