http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3826.jpgAnd the KEV MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
|
Nice mods.
I hope to get some mods next week: Touratech Handguards Touratech 12v Touratech foglights And after that i need: Oxford hotgrips Touratech protector stuff And maybe some power mods like the kev mod, but im not sure what it will change. I do have some surging but its not very annoying (yet). Why are most people getting a DNA air filter? I have lots of stuff i want, just need the money to buy it :icon_silent: Maybe better to start a new topic. PS)It looks like your exhaust and wiring is very greasy, have you sprayed something onto it? Is that the original air filter? |

Thats not how they looked whe they went out :090: I take it there wasn't enough room for the rear of the MicrDE's ?? If you let me know how much you brought the mounting point (for the lamp) forward I can offer this as a a different model. |

Hi Pinglow. Yes i did ****** up the mod and connect to the wrong wires... DOH!!! Kev has put me right and i have the soldering iron warming up as we speak to put it right...
Gas up, yes i had to move the brackets forward as the Micro DE are arse heavy and have a lot of lamp hanging at the back. The mearsurements to get the right spacings for the lamps were a bit rough as i just cut the brackets 3/4 the way through just after the bend then got a 24mm ring spanner on them to get a bit of leverage to bend them foward, that also needed twisting slightly to get the brackets parrallel again. After i was happy with them i put some weld into the void caused by bending them forward. bit of paint and off you go. Tried them this morning on the way to work...... MUCH BETTER no "dead" ground before the normal beam now. Mark |
thx for the pic of the nautilus compact, that was one of my future mod but it looks too big :p

Did you use 18mm or 22mm KTM guards ? |
I have just spent a little time on a bracket for my spot lights, I went a diffrent route and used a piece of round bar same OD as the rest of the front end stuff. I used a pipe bender to shape it the same profile as the front light surround and with a tab on each end for the lights. The bracket will pinch onto the two bars that hold the front light on. I will post some pictures when i get to putting it on dont have time just now off for a few days to amsterdam.
Cheers Jim |
Hi Kev, does this look better mate? Have soldered them as my sausage fingers were getting cramp trying to mess with that connector block!!!:fing06:

Looks good to me |
have just noticed in that pic that the heat shrink doesnt quite cover the wire..... :(
Have also put another relay under the seat while i had the iron out, this takes a switch live from the rear light and runs the spots and Hotegrips, No chance of a flat battery now as they but shut off from the ignition switch. Bike sounds like a sub station now when you turn the key with all the relays clicking!!! LOL http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3830.jpg |
ZOU yes the horn looks a bit of a pig, but to be honest once on the bike it is quite low down so it is not that noticable. I was filtering on the way home and a car driver was on his phone while driving (my pet hate!!!!) gave him a blast from the horn and he ****e himself and dropped the phone... nearly hit the car in front i was laughing that much.
Rick i didnt know that the KTM guards came in different sizes? Is there a part number anywhere i can give you to let you know which they are? Just got them from the local dealer, I did ask for 900 adventure ones as that is what i heard i had to ask for somewhere on the forum, Easy fit just a bit of dremmelling around the brake master cylinder, ( i have got to tidy my up a bit as they look a bit rough at the moment..) Postie finally got his act together and delivered some of my goodies today. Not all that i have been waiting for but enough to justyfy getting the soldering iron out again....
I did take more pictures but the computer refuse the recognise them and by that time i had put most of th bike back together..... 12V din socket wired into ineer indicator fairing. Red connector is a model racing car electrical connector called a "deans" connector. So the fairing can still be removed from the bike. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3853.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3854.jpg Other side to the deans connector wired into the ignition wiring so power is cut off when the key is turned off, female this time as this will have current going to it. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3852.jpg Din plug leading the 12V cigarette female socket. This will connect to SATNAV power lead in the back of the GIVI bag. (GREAT bit of kit by the way, i thought 40 for a small bag was a bit seteep but it is very well made and thought out and comes with a rian cover for when it pisses down) http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3855.jpg The more observant will notice the extra wiring going to the back of the dip beam. This is to feed this beastie...... http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3856.jpg HID 50 kit. Well put together kit, all connectors are easy to work out and weather sealed so should have no problems with water ingress. But dont bother getting the 3M dual lock from him as you get 2 little 1 inch lengths. I was not happy that this would be enough to secure the ballast so i ordered some more from E-bay. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3857.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3858.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3859.jpg I decided to fit the ballast to the inside of the tank using the dual lock that i got extra from E-bay. Seems to sit very nice in there and is well away from the forks and wiring. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3863.jpg A couple more pictures of th SATNAV bag and also the power lead coming from the fairing.... http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3861.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3862.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3865.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...y/DSCN3866.jpg Thats about it for now....... Just got to sort my camping gear out for next weekend.......:campfire: CRUSTY |
Just thought i would mention. Took the bike around the back of the house to try it in the car park. HID makes the 100W main beam bulb look like a candle!! And that 100W bulb used to show up the standard 55W dip bulb that i went back to after the battery issues i had last week.....
