Jofama bag - soft

Is this bag suitable for xtz? What do you think?. I can't get exact dimensions from jofama.

I'm sure you could make it fit quite easily, as it looks very similar to the Giant Loop - http://www.giantloopmoto.com/

Today I noticed that plastic exhaust covers are very very hot. It was about 32C here. Can I put this bag directly on the exhaust covers or do I need metal racks? What do you think?

I think a lot of people on here have run throwover panniers resting on the plastic exhaust shrouds without any problems. Personally I haven't, as I don't have that type of luggage, but I can't see a problem.

I use throw over panniers (kindly donated by my mate who forgot I'd borrowed them!) but I wouldn't fancy letting them rest on the plastic exhaust covers. For one thing I reckon they would rub and make a hell of a mess nevermind melting.

I fitted the yamaha top luggage bars (in case I can ever afford the side cases!) but they do prevent the throw over panniers from touching the exhaust covers and in the event of an off road spill they provide a bit of protection to the exhausts.

Just to add, I found a UK stockist too- http://www.skinscafe.co.uk/shoppages/luggage.html I'm a bit tempted as I do love luggage. I'm aware I have issues.

Let me know if you can try the bag for size on your bike stu, and snap some pics if you can.

On the subject of luggage.....

I wasn't going to post about these until I'd used them in anger, but I'm sure my opinion wont change:

I just picked up some 2nd hand, but unused Ortlieb Saddlebags and they appear to fit the Tenere perfectly:

I rode back with them from Oxford on Sunday (2hr trip) and even though they were empty the didnt move at all.

They have fixing straps front and back, the back one just loops round under the rear rack and the front ones I've attached to the passenger footrest supports.

They're quoted as being 24ltr each and 100% waterproof, with a roll top opening. Plastic supports inside to hold the shape. you can get them from Hein gericke.

They do rest on the plastic exhaust covers a little, but I didnt have any problem with the previous throw-overs I used. I don't think the covers get that hot?? You can easily rest the palm of your hand on the covers.

Nick.

Nick, on the specs for those you're supposed to leave a minimum space to the exhausts, but you obviously haven't... did they suffer any heat damage at all?
