OTR, Off the Road, have given me some excellent service.

In January I ordered their fork brace. A about two days after I ordered it, I received the automated email saying it had been dispatched via DHL [which run national post in Germany as far as I know].

A week went by, me expecting it to arrive.
Two weeks went by. No parcel. I had a look at the email, got the tracking number and put it into the DHL tracking website. That stated it had left Germany a day after it was dispatched. Strange?!

Getting concerned now, I emailed Thorsten at OTR and he replied, telling me to sit tight. Fair enough.
I forgot about the fork brace for a bit, and then realised that a month had gone by in total.
Again, I emailed Thorsten at OTR and he said he would investigate with DHL. Understandably, I am guessing he may have been concerned that I was pulling a fast one and trying to get my money back/another fork brace.

That was in February. Before I knew it we were half way through March and STILL no fork brace. Again, I emailed Thorsten. He told me that the investigation was still underway. Ok, now I was at the point of writing off the money as lost and posting this in the hall of shame section.
A short while after that, at the beginning of April, an email came through from Thorsten.
He told me that as the biking season was starting to get underway, he would ship me another one! Good news for me!
TWO days later, it arrived. From Germany to me in two days, I was pleased!

Throughout every email, Thorsten has been very polite and accommodating. Although I lost confidence in the parcel arriving at one point, I did not lose confidence that Thorsten would sort it out for me. Respect to him!

As the for the quality of the Fork Brace.. I couldn't be happier. Took two minutes to install, the build quality and finish is superb. Comes with bolts and fitting instructions. Looks flash and sexy, and seems to improve feedback from the front end. BUY ONE.

I am certainly buying from OTR again. Worth the wait!!

That'll be a first then, a ahppy customer. They are rip off merchants from my perspective and even when you check they have stuff in stock it still takes weeks to come.

aye off-the-road are spot on ive ordered a few thing over the last couple of years and havent had any problems goods are usually on the doorstep in a week unlike touracrap

How can you even praise someone that has made you wait 3 months and then he tells you: "oh yeah now the bike season is on again, I will actually bother to send you a new one cause I have them in stock again? (which is what he didin't tell you). That is like adding insult to injury, the man had you, done! good and proper.

He is a crook and I am disgusted of him. Yeah he sell stuff which is the blx but he is a ****ing piss taker.

And Rob I am sorry but he's had you, same as he has had all those people who had to wait months and months for stuff he sells without keeping stock of it.

What he does in order to keep his costs down, he will only order products directly from the manufacturers when he has finally reached a decent amount of orders, so in your case he only bought your brace when 10 or more orders where in his pockets already. and if you think at the fluctuation of the Euro vs Pound which "accidentally" has had a major downfall in the last 3 months SURPRISE SURPRISE, he's even made a profit on your good cash.

As far as I am concerned this post should be in the HALL OF SHAME

I've ordered once, and it was spot on, even got some extra goodies (magazine, stickers, german lollies!) when I opened the box. And was pretty impressed when it arrived exactly 14 days after order as quoted,

but good to know for the future

Well, I got my third order from OTR this morning, order on Tuesday arrives the following Friday or Monday.

So far, no problems with them at all.

I think anything ordered from within Europe should be on your door step within a week or it is a piss take, if firms take your money then you have to wait its bad service just look at touracrap lots of us had to wait months for our rear racks, I certainly wouldnt order from TT again.
