Adjusting the chain.......

Picking up on something I saw in:

http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=9358

I looked at the service manual for adjusting the chain, it says the bike should be on its wheels with no weight on the bike.

The handbook that comes with the bike says the bike should be on its sidestand......

The service manual for the XTX/R is similar to the Tenere service manual.

So is the Handbook talking ******?

With my bike on a rear paddock stand (so same as it being both wheels on the ground) my chain has about 20-30mm movement, so way too tight compared to the specs in the service manual.

So, whats the concensus?

Nick.
