mods
700cc big bore kit, race cams, PC III, CCC end cans... No, seriously, I'd just sort out all the other bits like a decent luggage system, maybe fit a sump guard, and any cosmetics it might need. When your time's up you can throw some cash at the engine, if you think it needs it, but you'll get another 15 or so h.p. when you de-restrict it, so you'll definately notice that. Good luck!

your restrictor is for 33bhp so you cannot add any performance mods that will up the bhp
only mods for a sexyier looking bike really. but saying that, I took my restrictor out after a month of passing test 'tut'tut' I done titanium carbon cans, DNA stage 1 & 2 & took snorkel out luckily got away with it for 2 years you may want to do thsi you may not its your licence, your life, good luck with whatever you choose

This is good advice. Spend your cash on some protection (bash plate, hand guards) gives you the chance to use your bike as a real dual sport bike - and hit the dirt!!

The only thing i find with cosmetics are that they are expensive spesh if bought from Yamaha! does anybody know of a little XT parts dealer I dont know about??
I'm going to keep the restrictor on, No point in risking it really! Though sexier looking would be nice!!!

As fostersmonster said the 33bhp restrictor means you cant really add anything apart from cosmetics.
If you looking at doing off roading or something i would say get a set of hand guards like the ones below someone else posted a few weeks ago dirt cheap, and have the important alloy bar to stop your levers from getting bashed about if you ever do drop your pride and joy, also make winter riding better (bout half way down the linked page) http://www.offroadbikestore.com/products.asp?cat=135 a bashplate would also be good, and a set of crash bars but these are quite expensive and theres so many they range in price/style etc. Other thing would be if you using your XTR year round get a high screen (and maybe a set of heated grips, dont really add many style points but make riding the bike alot more enjoyable. Most mods do cost quite alot and really just depends on how much your willing to spend/afford.
