XTR Insurance
I have just had my insurance rejected on my XTR as there is no xt660r on there database. This was a renewal and when i looked they had it down as a XTZ660 on my old policy so I phoned to tell them it was a XTR 660 and not a xtz660 and thay told me thay would not insure my bike have been trying all day to get my bike insured but they all say the same thing.I was with Bennett's and have just been charged 30 to cancel a policy that I cant even use. If some one can tell me who they insure there xtr with I would be very very grateful. If you are a xtr rider check your policy to make sure your covered for the right bike!

I have my XTX with Bennets and it says 'XT 660 X' on the policy.
Surely if they do the X they do the R??? Nick. |

Thats what I cant understand as the only difference between them is the wheels but as the XTR is not on the databases they dont want to know! It seems strange to me that no-ones had this problem before, so does this mean that loads of XTR riders out there are wrongly insured and dont realise!! Im just not sure what to do now as i've already spent 2days trying to get insurance for this bike!!

i had exactly the same problem ,bennetts do it as a like for like basis with the X version ,do an online quote with the X then ring them to explain you have the R version and they are very helpful

Nick
ive and XTR and am insured with a company called Rampdale. At the moment ive still got my insurance running but have been looking about and i have noticed that aswel that alot of these companies dont say XTR but say XTX. I am pretty sure i did an online quote with the above company and it was the same but said it was the XTR and i guy was like yep we need to up date our database but placed it down as an XTR in my bike insurance policy documents. Heres a link to there website below. http://www.rampdale.com/ I once went with bennetts for 6 months but they just didnt like me living in norn iron or the fact i use my bike as my only means of transport so left and went back to rampdale again. Best ive ever got.

Surely just giving them the registration number is good enough and say its an XT660 is all that is needed. There is no real difference insurance wise between the two.

This is why it is so frustrating please could riders of xtr have a look at there policy and see if it has XTR and not X or z because if not you may not be insured I said to bennets that the only difference is the wheels but still they would not insure me

My policy with Equity Red Star via Carole Nash clearly states that my two bikes are both XT660R. They claim to be the UK's 5th largest motor insurer and a Lloyd's member.
