This looks super! Where did you get this? You made it yourself? Or is it from some other motorcycle??

That just looks like the lower fender has been removed.

Plus the addition of the supports and forks brace which does not exist on the R.

Do you mean the metal frame thing between the forks?

Yes - it is a forks brace which the X has but because the R wheel is 21" there is not room for a straight one on the R so they do not put one on at all.
Why they did not put a curved one (curving over the tyre) I do not know. Perhaps there is no real need for a brace and the X one is cosmetic or is the R at some risk of warp under load because it doesn't have one? There exist so many minor differences between the X and R models that are not apparent to the casual observer - the rear suspension link bones being one - that one wonders why are they different? (The link bones probably to set the suspension level as a result of the front wheel size and geometry differences putting it out of level). ![Thumbsup[1]](images/fhbanner/emoticons/thumbsup[1].gif) to rekainen for a splendid job in doing what he wanted.

Ahh, I only just noticed the xtr>>xtx in the title, I thought it was an X all along.
Does it act as a brace or just a bracket for the lower fender? I'm guessing they didn't put on the R as it was designed as 'off road' and didn't want it to get clogged up with muck (like it would on the Z?) Well done though rekainen Last edited by Denny; 28-08-08 at 11:25. |

Parkez did convert his R into an X and changed also the brake pump. The brake caliper did touch the rims when he braked hard (not under normal riding conditions)
