Xt660z not starting. Think it might be the ignition switch.

I started the bike as usual this morning and 2 times after that. But while in the big smoke it refused to start. Here's the story.
Ignition turns on as normal, dash all good but nothing from the starter motor. Checked usual battery connections as just replaced the battery. Solinoid not sending power out to the main feed lead so I bypassed the solinoid and there's no spark at the plug.
Checked both side stand and clutch switch operation and all looks good but I may temporarily bypass them.
Then I noticed that I can now remove the ignition key with the power on which is new!
Any ideas folks?

Found it. Noticed the kill switch was receiving power and sending it,but the plug where it connects to the loom was not getting the returning signal, then as I checked the the plug and moved the wires it fixed it's self........temporarily!
Turns out it looks like the switch loom looks like it has at some time got struck by the bikes lock stop and squashed, virtually severing the returning power wire and damaging the rest.
