While in Scotland I bumped into Bernard Smith, whose late wife holds the record for being the first blind woman to go round the world on the back of a bike! Really nice guy with no airs and chatty. A fountain of knowledge after 20 years of travelling the world. He was riding this 1985 BMW RT, but had a XT1200, which he sold because it was too fast and would get him into trouble. Very interested in my Tenere. If I was alone I would have joined him wild camping. He has been pretty much every country bar China.
