They look interesting. are the hinges a steel pin and is the section where you put the padlock steel? they look tough I would want one to fit a crash helmet.

Thanks for the info, they definitely going on my short list as I may be able to reinforce them. The metal mule ones are very secure but have no style. I have looked at the madagan soft bags but the security is poor you have to wrap a steel cable around the pannier frame and the bags to get any security. what I am really looking for is some style and near total security.
