Fan Spec and Accessories Measured Electrical Consumption

I was checking the current draw of my cooling fan on my Tenere as it had blown a fuse recently and I wanted to know why.

The fan drew 3.4A running and on startup - I suspect the fuse may have blown due to a dirty connection which before I cleaned it was probably causing too high current draw. This result tallies with the specs for the standard fan:

Whilst I was mucking about I checked the draw from my accessories - they are supplied by a single feed from the battery through a 10A fuse and distributed accordingly from behind the grey tank/headlight "wings".

Some accessories have an always on 12v supply - spots (triggered by a relay on main beam), GPS tracker, DIN socket, heated jacket supply, etc. The other accessories are supplied via a relay when the ignition is on: charge light, SatNav, Autotune and heated grips.

So these are the measured current draws:

Ign on 0.65A
Just a relay, LED charge light, GPS tracker and supply for Garmin SatNav (which wasn't attached but the supply has a box of electronics attached - I think it just reduces the 12v to 5v).

Engine idling 0.80 (Not sure why it rose, Autotune?).

Heated Grips - setting: 1 = 2.4A
Heated Grips - setting: 2 = 2.9A
Heated Grips - setting: 3 = 3.2A
Heated Grips - setting: 4 = 3.3A
Heated Grips - setting: 5 = 3.5A
Heated Grips - setting: 6 = 3.8A

A bit higher than I expected - all checked with the engine off but ignition on.

Spotlights 1.9A
Spots (eng off) 2.2A

The spots were just the generic type from eBay

I'll have to remember to test my Exo heated jacket.

I took a couple of missing readings to add to the list:

The draw with the ignition off - so just the GPS tracker: 4.4mA

And with the engine idling (there's 14v at the battery)

Garmin Zumo 350 0.5A

Exo heated jacket 2.7A
