Golden Tyre GT200

I picked up a rear for 17.30 from Mytyres on e-bay.

They have a very similar tread pattern to the T63/Pirelli MT21, and slightly smaller chunks than the TKC80's.

Mine was 69H rated which in my mind means it is capable of handling faster speeds than the TKC80 and Mitchelin T63's so should wear slower...

I have a T63 on the front and this on the rear. Changed both on the same day and running the tyres in for the first 100 miles in the wet was terrifying First few miles were ludicrous, there was absolutely no communication between the handle bars and tyre direction. Terrifying, got to be an easier way of wearing tyres in
Once run in though

Awesome, the Mitchelin front under hard braking makes a noise that lets you know that it is distinctly complaining, which takes some getting used to if you've never had knobblier on.

The rear however, is terrific, I am amazed how well it has handled compered to the previous tyres on the road, leaning into corners and accelerating out, expecting the back end to break away has sent happened yet, when I had expected it to, so I can keep pushing this.
Offroad, not that I have done anything serious yet, I can feel the difference to the original Tyres, in fact anyone doing any offloading with the Original tyres deserves a special medal cos they're c_ _p in comparison. Particularly noticeable, braking down hill on muddy flint, the rear actually slows you down, on a path that the original tyres diddnt at all. On grass the rear eats and spits out large clumps, and if you keep the front brake on digs nice holes.

These usually go for 60-75 No idea why the price differs, but they are absolutely fine and new. Why they reduced the price to 17.30 on an item I was watching is beyond me, I regret only buying one set. I doubt that I will get 7000 miles out of them, but I should get more than 3000 and on a cost / tyre ratio thats awesome.

I ended up with the 140 profile, as I thought on road the wider profile will allow me more road contact and an easier dip into corners - I haven't found the safety buffer when dropping into corners yet, and when it dries out will try to eat those chicken strip bristles.

If I was paying 70 I would probably just get the TKC80's instead, but for a bargain price, these were worth it. Done 300 miles and not seen any significant wear yet.

As a true they are designed about 60 off-road 40 on-road, but in reality are very good on-road.

Not affiliated with either tyres manufacture, importer or seller. Just watch these and if the price drops, grab a bargain
