Pcv maps ?
Hey getting the PCV fitted next week and can't seem to find many maps to match my set up any help would be good also do I load the map on before or after I get it fitted ?
My 2007 XTX set up : Beowulf end cans Stage 1&2 filters Dynojet O2 optimizer |

You can load a map before you install the PCV or afterwards - makes little difference - your choice. Personally I would load your the initial map you want to use before you install all the gubbins on your bike. The reason being, once the PCV is installed on the bike you have no choice but to take your laptop to the bike (probably in a cold shed at this time of year) to send a map. If you load the PCV software onto your laptop and plug in the PCV before hand you can spend a bit of time familiarising yourself with the map(s) and with the software, whilst sitting in the comfort of your home. Bear in mind you will still need to connect your laptop to the PCV when fitted to the bike the first time you run it so you can calibrate the throttle. This task MUST be done before riding if you're using a third party map that wasn't built on your bike as every TPS voltage reading at idle will be different. |

Downloaded the 2 maps off power commander website they seem pretty standard also download Kev's 2007 XTX twin can off the 4shared it seems to be the only one close to my set up bar the sornkel out and the O2 eliminator
I have the optimizer in would this make it any different ? And setting the TPS is that simple enough ? Sorry about the noob questions btw Cheers in advance |

The O2 Optimiser will override whatever the trims are in the fuel maps cells when in the ECU is operating in the closed loop and fix the A/F ratio at 13.6:1. While operating in the open loop, the PCV map will determine the A/F ratio at whatever the map was built to achieve. In other words the Optimizer is controlling the closed loop and the Power Commander is controlling the open loop.
Yep. Dead easy. Just plug in your laptop, run the PCV software, get the bike up to operating temperature then: Go to "Power Commander Tools" in the menu, then select "calibrate throttle". A pop up will appear and you need to select reset (with the bike idling on a closed throttle) then immediately twist the throttle to the stop and let go. Finally select "OK" to accept the the setting. Job done. When you run the software connected to a running bike initially you may well notice that the throttle opening might be displayed as 2-5% even though the throttle is closed, it is important it reads 0 when closed. Conversely, mine actually read 0 on a closed throttle, but stayed 0 even when the throttle was initially opened, which is just as bad. The same can be said about the top end; reading 97% when the throttle is on the stop is no good, and neither is it reading 100% when there's still some more throttle to go. If you don't get 0% - 100% calibrated so as the TPS position matches that of the fuel map, the fuelling isn't going to be right for each 250rpm interval. |

Cool the only problem I see is the twisting up to fully open as the cans I have on it would wake the dead and I live in a very tight street lol

You only need to have ignition on when calibrating the throttle, do not do it with engine running! That would wake up the neighbours...

Ah sorry, I had a old pc3 before on my ducati and the instructions for that said only with ignition on. It makes sense thou to calibrate with engine on.
