Question H&B crashbars + OTR bashplate ?

Hello guys,

I've been messing and sweating all day but I dont get it to work. The H&B guards are installed, but the OTR bashplate is not fitting. The plate interferes with the crashbars at the back. OTR declares at there website that these 2 should fit together, but I cannot see/find any pics on the www of the 2 items installed together.

Maybe somebody on the forum with more tech skills managed to install these 2 together? Is there something I'm missing to see here ?

Hi Petenz,

The crash bars and the plate share the same mountingpoints at the back, they sit together on large bolts on two sides(where also the original plastic plate was mounted). The crashbars themselves were not easy to install and I hate the thought of undoing it all, but maybe thats the way to go. I'll give it a try when i get in the right mood and find the time, maybe this winter

I dont have pics, and I've reassembled the rear of the crashbars, so I can ride it. for now this will do,

These bars and plates are very popular, hard to imagine I'm the first to try this out.. why are there no pics of this combo ..

Oh yes, I forgot to mention it's an ABS model, could have subtile different dimensions ?

When I fitted my h&b crash bars they were a pain in the ass to fit but I didn't have any problems as my crash guard was fitted already. I did have to cut some off the end of the mounting bolts as they wouldn't fit with the centre stand.

Might be worth getting in touch with Thorsten at OTR?

He is a decent chap and has always been very helpful to me when I've queried things or asked for advice/product support in the past. He isn't always an easy fellow to get hold of in a hurry though!

Try email first and then, if you don't have any success, give him a phone call.
