headlight wattage

Im currently running 55w H7 bulbs in the bike, and 55w H3's in my givi spots. Can the ten z handle 100w H7's - in terms of alternator charge supply? At peak, with the spots on, I would be drawing 100w on the headlight and 55w x2 for the spots. So maxing at 205w (if I have got it right).

What can the bike charging system handle?

Greetings from Joburg, South Africa.

Yes, theoretically the wiring can take a 100W H7 in the main and dip in the standard setup (but not if wired together so they're both on at the same time).

TBH - running 100W in the headlight and 2x 55W spots is going to be too much for the alternator to keep up with, that's 15A (@~14V).

Have a read of this thread, it explains pretty much all you need to know about the XTZ's charging capacity.

better arrangement for lights

Super info, thanks P.

subsequent to this, I have discovered an 85w H7 option- I might go for this, and see if I can get a 35 w h3 for my givi spots.
