Puncture repair on the tyre

Hi there,

Just got a puncture and repaired the inner tube with a patch.

I was wondering whether it is necessary/recommended to seal somehow the puncture on the tyre itself i.e. using rubber strips?

Thanks!

Thanks guys.
No light through at all on the tyre. Will go this time without the rubber strip.

Cheers
