DAMN i wish people were as anal as me.

Had a 10mins job today of doing the cushdrive rubber 'fix'

While the wheel was out i noticed how much crap was on the back of swingarm and inside of it.... then i also noticed how much on the underneath of swingarm...

Carrying on around that, i noticed the shock linkages were barely existing and the mounts looked like a ball of chainlube... then onto the bottom of the shock, the back of swingarm between the shock/wheel and also the gear selector etc. The more i looked the more crap i found to get off there. Even the bottom of the shock spring was terrible.... Don't start me on the rear caliper mounting bracket or i may scream LOL.

I now dread to think how my previous bikes look after even a month of riding with the new owners... every bike i seem to buy has unacceptable levels of cleanliness for me.

Is it just me or is anyone else as bad ?

In a word yes. I am and in my case it really does detract from ownership as I am more bothered about keeping it clean than using the bike.

OCD is a real pain in the ass.

You should maybe have two bikes, one for polishing and one for riding? You could keep the clean one in the living room, just in case it got dusty in the garage...!

If you think you are anal with a clean bike you have not seen mine. I don't mind getting them dirty & ride in all weather conditions, but do spend a bit of time cleaning mine, with not one rust spot or bit of corrosion on them.

My best mate KLR is the worst, his bikes look like they have come off the show room floor with one of them being 7 years old.

So there are a few of us out there.
