Clutch pull length? Hydraulic clutch just fitted
Hey,
Ive just fitted a hydraulic clutch to my Tenere. The systems bled but I don't think its pulling the clutch arm enough to disengage the clutch. Does anyone know how far that arm needs to move? Could some one with the original cable clutch measure it for me please. Mine is only moving 9mm. Thanks in advance, TIm. |

If you put a centre dot in the middle of the clevis pin at the end of the lever, mine moves exactly 15mm

Thanks Matt, cheers for checking
![]() Yeah I thought the cable pulled it further than the 9mm that I'm getting! Not 100% sure weather its enough or not. wont be able to tell until i put the bike back together n have her running again... but just looking at it, I dont thin 9mm is enough. Anyone got the magura hymec set up from OTR? How far does your clutch arm move? |

Hi, I've fitted magura hymec on my '09 tenere some 10.000km's ago... I've noticed shorter movement compared to the original cable one, mine has about 8-9 mm travel. After proper (lever release) adjustment, when put on central stand I've tested engagement by pulling the lever when in 1st gear and rear wheel stopped rotating in seconds.. good enough for me. Also, I've checked with my mechanic working in yamaha centre and he confirmed that such setting (8-9 mm travel) should be enough. After 10 +k km's of semi-hard ride the bike is absolutely fine. Anyway, the clutch is light and soft and (as stated by magura) designed to be 'shorter travel/cross style' type of cluch... I prefer it to the cable and am quite happy with mine. Hope this helps...
