Newbie - any London meetups?
Hey people.
recently ditched my boring CBF and onto a much more exciting XT660X. it is however a snatchy juddery ******, and i'm interested in the fuel/air mods that are being discussed on the site to smooth it out but i'm a technological moron, and would love to meet up with some other bikers to get some tips and advice! any regular meetups around London? Thanks DS |

![]() ![]() if you go to Ace Cafe on weekends you are bound to find a few XT's there. However it is not difficult to follow our "fuelling fix" instructions, just click on the link below and follow the step by step guide, then when you are more savvy, and you become an XT Supporter you can even ask Kev for a one to one session by pm and he will get your bike flying with full colours! ![]() http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?...=Co+adjustment |

thanks!
Thats great, my co2 number was at 8 so ive increased it to 15 but it hasnt seemed to have made a huge ammount of difference. When driving <30mph and come off the throttle there is a big jerk when rolling the power back on.
There is no slack in the chain, it is seriously annoying when filtering! Its an 04 plate. Could the ecu have anything to do with it? Cheers! Dave |

The ECU in the 04 bikes was indeed one of the "troublesome" ones. As well as the TPS was recalled in all the bikes from 2004 to 2005 included.
My friend you need to get on to Kev (obviously after you've joined the XT Supporters) because his help is much needed in this case, the 2004 bikes were a bit of a dark horse, and you need Kev's help to get your bike to work fine, but in the meantime I suggest you increase the tickover (idleing speed) to at least 1450-1500rpm to ensure that on close throttle the bike doesn't starve of fuel and cut out. |

TPS etc...
Ahoy there Capt'n!
checked with a YAM dealer and the TPS was changed in '06. having ridden it a bit more since the o2 change it does seem to be reacting a bit better but still hit and miss when rolling power back on into a corner, as to whether or not i'll end up in a hedge... the bike hasn't had a problem with cutting out but i assume because the TPS has been fixed. cheers for the tips. off to sign up to supporters! cheers! |

Seems all has been covered in the referring links, I would add one to it & that is your rear sprocket holder dampening rubbers, grab the rear sprocket & see if you can move it back & forwards, there should be no free play in the rubbers, if it has free play it will make the bike have a delay or jolt when coming off & on the throttle.
If there is free play renew the rubbers or carry out our rear sprocket rubber mod. 8/ Free play in sprocket holder mod. http://www.xt660.com/showpost.php?p=113529&postcount=1 http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Yamaha/X..._Rubber_-_Set/ The 04's were the hardest 660's to get smooth with the 00 ECU's, I would also do this mod for better throttle control. 13/ Twitchy Throttle, good mod to do. http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?p=154983#post154983
