Drilling holes in airbox...

Hi,
since couple of months I was wondering where to put the chain lubrication oil tank and the valve. Last Sunday, I have decided to put it inside the airbox... Here is how I did it:

Drilled a hole at the bottom right corned of the right airbox cover, for the oil tube outlet:

And two holes at the top of the airbox for two tubes: airing and filling of the oil reservoir:

The tubes fit quite snug into the holes, but I am not sure whether this is enough to completely seal the airbox. I was thinking about sealing it with silicon. Is the vacuum in airbox really so big to suck up dirt and water through the space between? Or maybe this mod is complete no no.

XT660ZTenere with DNA Stage 2, Kev Mod and LeoVince.
By the way, Kev - your fuel mod rocks!

Thanks for advice.

Think about it:

- they apply grease to seal the cover/lid of the airbox
- your engine pumps around about 1500 liter/minute of air when you run it at 5000rpm

...

...

... is it wise to put in some extra holes in it and not to seal them?

Come to think of it... you're right Coxwain... there's still the airfilter in between...

Thanks for the replies. I am not so afraid of the amount of air that will go into the engine, but rather more about the purity of the air. The air in the airbox of Tenere is already post-filtered, which means it is clean. In my case, the air potentially entering through the holes is not filtered. I am mostly concerned about the dust or the water (in case of crossing a stream or a small river) that might be sucked up into the airbox. If, as SingleMinded writes, Ten sucks up up to 1500 L of air per minute, I could easily imagine water filling the airbox through the bottom hole...
