Interestingly I've just changed from Trailmax TR91 (the rear lasted just shy of 4000 miles and the front was still good for another couple of thousand) and have gone back to TKCs. The TR91 is a most excellent summer road bias tyre, excellent in the wet too, but (and here's the rub) takes a fair while to get warmed up in to operating temperature. In cold weather, and the first few miles of a ride it is/was very easy to spin up the rear on damp roads - so not an ideal tyre to change to in December (unless perhaps all your journeys are long and fast roads).
