Tenere MT21 rear

My rear Mitas E0-9 has done prob about 4k and is pretty dam worn now! more troubling though is the amount of blocks that have cracked and lost bits...oh and the cracks in the actually tire carcas!

over all i think there good tyres, pretty good off road but once they start to wear the off road ability drops quickly.

ive used an MT21 front and liked it. It was good on and off road, i had a T63 before that i thought the MT21 was way better off road.

while on a recent trip to "phil in France" house a lad had a TTR600 with MT21's front and back. He rode from Edinburgh to Payrac & back with off roading inbetween and said they were great.

running a army special front at the mo which i think is brill, not great on wet roads though. would like a Mitas C02 rear but on wet roads, with some luggage...i think those tyres may be too aggressive.

views on MT21 rear for Tenere? what terrain do you ride?

I'v currently got an MT21 on the front and an E09 on the rear.
It's my second MT21 on the front and before the E09 there was an MT21 on the rear.
First time l've had a full knobby on the rear and loved it.
I ride 80/20 road/dirt. I commute in the wet, l ride dirt in the wet.
I am going back to an MT21 rear or a Dunlop 606, and l will be riding black top to work every day rain, hail or shine.
I got about 3 or 4k out of the rear even with commuting.
Love the MT21, you will not be disappointed.
I've heard the 606 is better.
The Mitas is too tight to fit myself, going back to what l know l can do on the trail.

I was pretty pleased with my Karoo rear. The Karoo 2 and 3 seem more road-oriented though. I mix it with a MT21 front. The Karoo front seems more skiddish in the wet. The MT21 rear seems to wear faster. So Karoo rear and MT21 front works well for me.

130/90 will fit and work without any issues. The only thing is it will have an ever so slightly taller profile, so will raise the gearing a fraction (and make the speedo even more optimistic!)

I know for sure the E09 dakar comes in 130/80/17 as I have one in my garage waiting to be fitted.
