Hi I used to be a 'rocker' many years ago, 59 club and all that but turned to off roading including riding a trials bike up Snowdon in 1970, I entered the 'Exeter trial' a couple of times. First in 1970 on a 500 BSA Gold star in trials trim, broke the primary chain so was a bit late finishing, then on a BSA B40 trials bike winning a first class award - still got the cup.
After working overseas alot, I gave up on bikes for nearly 40 years, but when my son wanted a bike it awoke the old flame deep within me, so when he wanted a 'big bike' I 'strongly' advised him to buy an XT660R

.
Which he used for a couple of years, but again wanted a bigger bike not wishing to let the XT go I did a deal with him (that was also acceptable to my wife) so now I'm the proud owner of an XT660R 2005 black.
After so long off bikes and now 63, I was a bit worried but soon got back into it. Joined an 'oldie bike club' and been out a few times around the 'Cotswold area' for a 'burn up' (all a bit slower), I may use it for some off road routes if the chance comes up, but most of my 'off roading' is done with my Quad helping out on game shoots.
Good to get on the forum and looking forward to checking out some posts and maybe meeting up with others
