Rear Suspension Bell Crank Bearings XT660Z Tenere

My XT660R also wore out the rear links needle bearings at about 60 000km.
But I`m not selling this Z , I still love it too much
[/quote]

This bike has now got 55500 km on the clock and was 2yrs old in June 2012

My waranty expired in June this year.
I removed the wishbone links , and the bolt attaching the rear shock .
I removed the bolt attaching the bellcrank

Well , although the wishbone link bearings are worn , the cullprit was the needle bearing in the bellcrank that the rear shock attaches to.
The needles are in pieces .
Where the bellcrank attaches to the bikes frame *, the needle bearing there is seized.

I took some pics and will post them tomorrow

I wonder if there is a service that covers the inspection of these bearings *?
My bikes just clocked 59 000 km and was 2 yrs old in June this year,

So I need the bearings for the wishbone attachment ( 2 sets with seals), the Rear Shock Bellcrank bearings ,
The Bellcrank to Frame bearings.
If your bike has *about 40 000km on , have the agents grease those bearings

Ok , here is the Bellcrank and its wishbones fitted. In the back ground I did a quick sketch to show where the swing arm is positioned and the bike frame mounting would be to the right.

This is the "B" bearing that the Rear shock attaches to.(one needle bearing and 2 seals here)

This is the "C" bearing that attaches to the frame ( 2 needle bearings and 2 seals here)

This is the "D" bearing that attaches the Wishbobes to the Bellcrank and to The rear swing arm ( 2 Bearings and 2 seals ) and the bellcrank.
The Needle bearings measure 17 mm ID by 25 mm OD and ? wide (will have to check at work tomorrow,

hi, tbh 40,000kms the bearings will be knackered anyway, so greasing them then is a too late!

better to get it done as soon as you get the bike as there's not much grease in to begin with.

as for is it on a service schedule i have no idea, i'm guessing it will be like changing the brake fluid, you will most likely have to prompt the dealer into making it into part of the service/maintenance
