GoPro Hero mount

This may have been asked before, but b*ggered if I can find any info, so here goes:
I just got given a GoPro Hero 960 camera for a birthday present (her indoors is now well cool!!!). I stuck a mount on my lid, but it ruins the look of it & is a fiddle to get to the buttons. I made an aluminium bracket that bolts to the underside of my hand guards, but this flexes too much with vibration/wind/weight of camera. So, rather than splash out on official GoPro mounts, has anyone come up with a DIY/homebre mounting solution on an X?? I'm thinking handlebar mounts, but space is very limited....

I have found that either helmet or chest are the only two good places to mount a GoPro for road or dirt riding, everywhere else on the bike seems to vibrate to much for any descent footage .

Because of the amount of vibrations the bike gives off you are always better mounting it on your body as it acts like a shock absorber- I use the chest mount and that gives a great view of the road ahead, the clocks and the handlebars. I have been experimenting with mounting the gopro on the fairing level with my left knee but under hard acceleration the camera moves around alot and there's a lot of noise from the plastics vibrating. I bought a monopod with a gopro tripod mount and intend on attaching it across the hand grabs on the back of the bike so the camera is further out on the side of the bike getting a view of me on the bike when I am banking into a corner but haven't tried it yet so will post what it's like after I have tried it.

This is a pretty good website for mounting ideas for the gopro- they also sell lots of aftermarket mounts.

Thanks for suggestions mozza! I checked that link & there's some crazy ideas there....
Anyway, I guess vibration on an XT will be a REAL problem, & suspect that helmet/body mounting is the only real solution. I will of course experiment & report back!!
