Question Checking oil on paddock stand

Hi All,

May well be a dumb question, if so I apologise in advance!

I've read previous forum threads on the process to check oil in the XT600X - so I went for a ride, brought the bike home, popped it on a paddock stand and cleaned the chain quickly while it was still warm...then opened the dipstick to check oil, and oil came pouring out. (prob 5 minutes after stopping the engine).

Was it just that the bike was at too much of an angle on the paddock stand, or was it potentially over-filled by the dealer? (I got the bike on Wednesday, so my first maintenance morning).

(Yes, I know not to lube the chain while it's warm - I'll do that later on...cleaning a warm chain is much easier though!)

Thanks in advance!
Grant
