I got my agv ax8 ds in the post yesterday, rode to work with it on this morning and have to say its a really good helmet. �250 but you pay for quality. It's really light, comfortable and really well vented- a lot more wind noise than my agv stealth but I suppose you expect that with that style of helmet. It's the first time I have ridden in a crossover type helmet but I doubt I will ever go back. I really recommend it.

I currently have the wulfsport prima, the model before that one! Its a good helmet, not too loud, comfortable and light weight and good in a crash (I unfortunately tested it 2 years ago) however the visor and peak aren't fixed that well from new.

There are some good alternatives popping up cheers for all the input folks. Seems like most folks are saying airoh bit the acerbis and the duchinni also look great! Will have to do some more digging!

Looking closely at the Duchini and the Acerbis, I am pretty sure they are exactly the same helmet and apparently manufactured in China...

I find some helmets with tight bends in the visor can cause blurry vision particularly with polarised optical glasses. Since I am as short sighted as a Muppet this affects me.

It's not so noticeable standing stationary in the shop (under artificial light) but as soon as you move into natural sun light it is.

At a guess, I'd say it could be poor light transmission in the plastic or poly carbonate. Usually a problem in the cheapest of the cheap units.

+1 with the DS/crossover style.

I looked at heaps of DS helmets. Arai XD is nice, very rigid and with some great features (it should for the price). Usually ride with a Shoei TZ-something or other, but have to say that that expensive helmet stays in the garage now.
The Hornet DS is as light, just as quiet, gives great vision and the peak is invaluable (especially on the commute to work when the sun is either rising or setting). It is a little bit of a strain off centre in the wind, but not uncomfortably so (peak is smallish).
In the winter it is a bit draughty, nothing that a polypropylene buff won't sort out.
Some of the cheaper helmets are heavy, noisy and look not well put together. I didn't look at the Airoh, but it comes recommended. Might be a good compromise between price & performance.
Have you looked on ebay? Good option if you are sure of your size...

As you and many others have said the Airoh seems to be the way forward. Allthough I do like the styling of the acerbis and the duchini. The sun visor (similar to what is on my caberg) is so useful!

Im going to have a shop around next weekend to get size comparrisons.

I think the acerbis is ACU + ECE 22.05 Approved but the Duchinni is only ECE 22.05

As far as i know(now), ECE tag allows the helmet to be signed of in Europe(legal safety tests) and ACU allows you to use it in motor sport?

Simplified answer but its about that I think?
