Electrical power problem.

Hi all,

I have a XTX '05 since 2 years. What I did notice was that I alway's keep busting my taillight every 2-3 month's. I mean the lightbulb and not the lightcover. Normaly it's my rear light that brakes down and not my rear-brake light. I've changed it with a LED version and I don't have that problem anymore.
But I've noticed that when I try to use the horn when driving, it makes a "overpitched" sound. Like an air-horn is been cut of almost all air. Also I've busted my Nuvi hardwired power cord for the GPS.
Now I was wondering if the bike is giving to much electrical power when driving (motor running). Anyone aware of any electrical problems in that area?
Maybe it's just a horn that is due to be replaced and a misconnected the hard wire power cord (used the connector beneath the seat and the back end). All idea's are welcome.

Kind regards from Belgium.
