ECU/Fuel issues on full throttle

I've been having a blast on the bike however have had one problem that has occurred three times now:
Always over 100km/h first time at about 170, twice at 130
Always on 100% throttle
Over half a tank of fuel
Running in 5th gear
While riding spiritedly, hours into the day with everything warm and running fine the bike cuts out for a moment, maybe a quarter of a second then runs fine again.
It's abrupt enough to find myself riding the tank and looking at the front tyre and is quite disconcerting. The first time I thought it was a speed limiter st 175 kmh but then it happened again at 130kmh about a month ago, I then decided the culprit was fuel as both times I was running 95ron out of necessity as opposed to the 98ron I usually run.
But on the weekend it cut out again at 130 running on abouts its 5th in a row tank of 98ron.
The tenere was carefully run in over 2000km even with the dealer insisting how unnecessary it was. I also did an overnight battery disconnect, followed by 15 minute cold idle after the first two tanks of 98ron.
Haven't checked the fuel filter yet but I don't expect to find anything? Any suggestions? Hard to pinpoint anything given the prerequisite conditions for the fault!

What mods are on your bike?

Any fault codes flashing?

How many KMS are you on now?

Bash plates, hand guards, rear cargo plate but no power or drive train mods beyond tyres, now running pirelli sport demon street tyres.
4510kms No fault codes at all that I can see, maybe computer could have some logged not on screen? Anyone would think the bike is 100% perfect...

Interesting, I have seen a similar fault from a faulty TPS on a XTR. I have not heard of this fault on a XTZ.

Mine does the same thing now and then (maybe once in every 300 miles). We've attributed it to the wet conditions, never does it during the dry parts of the summer

Squirt of WD40 into the plug cap and a clean out, give the contacts a squeeze and refit. There is usually some crap comes out of the plug cap, but I couldn't say if it was the cause of the problem.

Perhaps, at such high engine revs, coupled with a less than perfect plug-cap-fit you are geting a split second where the spark isn't happening ? Or maybe not!

Hmmm all food for thought.
KEV: How old was the xtr when it happened?
Was the tps fault when rolling onto the throttle or after sustained input like mine?
My bike idles like a kitten and hasn't ever hesitated on roll on throttle like it's missing tip in fuel.
GULP: interesting theory. I do commute my bike rain hail or shine, and the first occurrence was after (50 or 100 km after) a shallow creek crossing. But the last 2 times have been atleast 200kms into a day ride in 30+ degrees low humidity and not even close to bike washing time. Have you thought about a new lead as a solution?

ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

I don't consider it a problem,, so no solution needed. Sometimes bikes need TLC, I live in a wet place so I expect to give both my bikes some care now and then.

My bike has cut out several times, each time it was caused by not quite turning the ignition key fully to the right when quickly starting off after a stop.A bump or the vibes causing it to cut the ignition.

Might be worth checking out the ignition switch oztenere.

Check the wiring on wear and tear. These look a lot like the symptoms I had. After a while I ended up with a fuse blowing caused by a bear wire rubbing against the frame. It's not related to a specific speed but to a certain degree of vibration... I guess.. Just like you I, at first, thought it had to do with humidity...

There's a thread somewhere with nice pictures.

Ah... here they are (but in your case it could be on a different location):

It is more likely to happen if your bike has done several tens of thousand km's.

Partially blocked, kinked or trapped fuel tank vent/breather hose can cause similar symptoms to those described.
