Sorry to hear of your problems. Has your dealer fitted a new loom and regulator / rectifier?

Hi Doug, the reg/rec has been replaced as has the battery, the wiring loom connectors to /from the reg has been done and totaly sealed ...... the display disapeared the ecu gave 45/46 error codes = low voltage etc after a while engine died (just got to the dealers yard!) left it in discust ..not happy, dealer offered me a new divvy for 500 exchange otr don't know what to do now, Hummmmm

Might it be a stator rather then regulator/rectifier problem? Have they checked the output from the generator and through the loom prior to the reg/rec?

It really shouldn't be a recurring problem once it is fixed correctly.

Hi Jmo, I don't know yet, I'm going to see them tomorrow to see what's happening I'll be asking the question!

The question I would be asking is, why haven't you fixed it.....

I agree with Jenny, my thoughts are that the mechanic hasn't solved the problem, just fixed some of the symptoms.

...this suggests to me that they don't really know what to do themselves and think that the above solution is the easiest way out. I know "your" dealer quite well!

To me the mechanic has not found the problem, he needs to look further into the charging system. Let one of the senior mechanic's ride your bike home for a week to check the charging & amp draw, they will soon fix it if they have to walk home.

Hi Guy's n gall ;-) Thanks for all your input, i have to admit that I asked for the divvy quote as i was so P*$ed off and i had a divvy before year or so ago and liked it, so I asked the question , just phoned the dealer workshop spoke to the Manager (Adie), he informed me that he thinks the reg/rec and loom is causing the probs Hummmm this is under warantee but is it likely to happen again once out????? and what are Yamaha doing about this, it must be costing them a fortune , still may go with the the Divvy, as least the otherhalf can get her leg over it:-D keep you informed........

In my local dealer the Divvy is priced at about 5700 ish and the 'Ten is up for 6500 ish. So if you're gonna do a swap i'd be asking HIM for 500.

Why not just a new 'Ten? I'd be pushing for that.

Pete.
