rectifier..

morning all....
to check the rectifier on my 08 ten,,reg09.. is it just a matter of pulling it apart and checking for burns/marks on terminals..its covered six thousand miles..and have had no trouble so far,,apart from cushdrive rubbers done on warranty.. its just that the warranty runs out soon and i dont want to get caught out..
thanks in advance..

That's it, just unplug the block connector and look for signs of burning. Also check that the contacts in the block are all pushed through from the loom side properly. I put some electrical contact grease on mine and smothered the block, when plugged back in, with silicon grease.
