right decision
i was considering the super 10 as me next bike and was seriusly considering it
the super 10 was a lovley road bike to ride ..but its likely i would only use it two up for touring .. after long thought i came to the conclusion as a long distance tarmack bike me old varadero was better at the task in a lot of ways.. much more weather protection comfy as a armchair and mega tank range ..cheap and ultra reliable sad i know but vee strom and now the varadero [again ] has served me very well .. i enjoy it very much when they want another 8 thousand pound s on top the answer s easy you must be joking 3 gses vstroms a 950 ktm left me limited off tarmack just too big and heavy ..for me anyway then theres the price .. strewth i reacon the 660 takes some beating as a solo duel purpose bike it find it very capable inspires confidence on the rough tracks i wouldnt want to ride it too far two up but i dont have to now i reacon keeping the vara and adding the 660 is perfect for me saving around 5000 quid in the process couldnt want to buy them after the test ride ..believe me i wanted to be blown away but .....wasnt far from it really not inspired at all untill i rode the 660 stange olld world int it By null at 2010-07-09 By null at 2010-09-06 By null at 2010-07-30 By null at 2009-01-27 By null at 2010-11-20 Last edited by minkyhead; 04-12-10 at 03:11. |

For me it depends on budget and what I am going to use the bike for. There are some amazing fast bikes out there but as my dad says speed costs money.
For me a 660 is perfect for everything I do from touring to fire roads plus road riding. A solo bike for sure I think but you can of course do two up. Im keeping mine for a while as Ive found a bike I really enjoy every time I ride. Tried the fast bikes. GS etc and the GS was great but trails its a beast to handle

i have to say the ducati was a fast bike
i cant deny i enjoyed it ..but you cant ride it hard all the time when riding it in town or at more normal speeds it wasnt that pleasent particularly the transmission .. the faster you went the more sense it made .. bit like a sportsbike really a brilliant bend carver but seriously ..would you put tks on it and dip it full of mud difficult but put the 8000 pound price difference to one side with over 100 hp extra over the 660 you would think that it would be a no brainer in favour of the ducati i read it a bit different and had it labelled as a one trick pony but a really really nice trick oh well so many bikes so little time merry xmas |

I can't imagine what the residual loss will be in a couple of years time on a super tenere, whereas a Bee Emm will hold its value many times over. Bit of a no-brainer me thinks......... |

not rode the super ten yet, not that fussed really it looks like a good bike but its very exspensive.
Tried the Big GS couldnt stand it took it back and had a ride on the 800 gs much nicer bike but wouldnt swap it for my ten. Thought the selvio was vague like the gs but with a little more flair. Harley Iron - put a big grin on my face and would sooner ride it than the big gs. The Ducati was amazing but how long my life or license could survive that bike is anyones guess (not very long) It was super fast and super fun but also super exspensive and not a true adventure bike as in you wouldnt want to take it down a muddy lane. and bits were falling off it not good for 14k !!!!! Truimph - tried the Tiger wasnt overly impressed, I found the street triple a much nicer bike to ride and enjoy. So that leaves the new 800 Tiger to try, can't wait it looks to be a great buy its well priced and well specced and if the motor is anything like as fun as the street triples then it should be a corker.
