fourteen (14) tooth front sprockets

I ordered six sprockets ages and ages ago from the UK (2 for me the rest to make the postage cheaper) my package arrived today with a message from customs.

The parcel was intercepted, x-rayed - thought to contain prohibited items and opened. So XT660 sprockets look like ninja throwing stars. Tomorrow I am putting on my black pyjamas and practicing being "the invisible assassin" whilst I install it. But I just realised, damn the black ninja outfit is going to clash with the blue bike, I should of bought a black bike not a blue one. Can I perhaps be a blue ninja???

Meanwhile if anyone else is after a renthal 14 tooth sprocket in Australia, (I tried all the Australian surpliers and I couldn't get one) I have four spare - $25 each including postage. PM me if you are interested.

Installation of mine oh what a difference it makes.

GULG has a listing on the forums that tells you how to do an installation using a long bar and socket (32mm).

"stand on the right side of the bike, bike on the sidestand, in gear and stand on the brake pedal, reach over the bike, and pull on the strong arm (that is connected via a socket to the sprocket nut), it works perfectly. If you are worried about your back, rest your chest on the bike and use your shoulders/arms."

Now this was all well and good until the moment that decided to really pull up hard, forgot that the right foot was cramped up for a reason (covering the rear brake), the moment I moved my right leg, that let the bike roll forward off the side stand and almost toppled over.

Luckly nobody around to laugh.

It has inspired me to write a ditty to the pentamic meter of "the 100 green bottle" song.

Six renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
six renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
Woottonboy installed the first and almost had a fall
that leaves five renthal sprockets and no ******* more.

five renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
five renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
I'll be keeping a spare, I won't need to import no more
that leaves four renthal sprockets they're going out the door.

four renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
four renthal sprockets, 14 teeth on all,
NUTT wants one in Melbourne, he was quick to score
that leaves three renthal sprockets and no ******* more.

Got your PM - no offence taken. Maybe I should take Kev's lead and put a disclaimer on the bottom of all my posts!!!

Maybe nobody was around to laugh at the time, but it's made me chuckle this morning.... and it's still only 7:12..
