Anyone tried 140/80/17

I'm going to have a new rear tyre fitted at the weekend and am considering widening the 130/80 to a 140/80. Has anyone done the same? If so, how did it change the bike?

I do 125 miles per day and won't be taking it offroad. I've currently got Bridgestone bw's front and rear and will probably replace with a bw again.

I thought you had BT45s, not BWs?
Not done a 130-140 on the Ten, but on my old DR sumo I went from 140-150 and found the back was not as firm in the corners.
You'll get a small change in the effectual gearing due to the taller profile (in comparison). Whether you'll notice it I'm not sure.

I had a 150 Battle Wing (left over from my BMW era). It was a pain to get on the rim and a fight to get it off. It is a bit slower to get in the corners but for the rest you do not notice it.

I used both a 130 and 140 TKC80 on the original wheels in the USA, and I can't say it made much difference to be honest... (perhaps the steering/turn in was ever so slightly slower with the 140)... the fat tyre looked cooler though x

ps. I've just put a 140/80x18 TKC on the Tenere, and it looks like a bloody bicycle tyre compared to the Michelin Desert that was on there before!
