dazmatic is on a distinguished road
Daz's Airbox Bodge

Thought I'd start my own thread on this rather than Hijack anyone elses.

First off:
This is a mod I felt like I could carry out myself without incuring massive costs so if it all goes tits up, I haven't lost out on much.
It's also a mod to do for fun, I enjoy tinkering with things and making things (like the fuel mod kev is testing which was a huge headache but great fun to put together!) and this is another project for me to do during these now colder days and while I await results from Kev's testing (Get that on the Dyno, fingers crossed!)

Also, I wanted to see if it can be done! Personally, I haven't seen anyone else on the forums try this.

Not to mention, with my autotune, I can create a fuel map to suit. I already have a very good base map built and if this works, I will be able to tell from the fuel trims the autotune will produce.

The base:

Second hand XT Airbox off ebay, 18 delivered with Snorkel, panels and original air filter:

My modified left hand panel, still a little messy and needs tidying up:

The top of the airbox, where I intend to roughly cut the box for the air filter to suit:

How I imagine the filter would look from the top of the box:

And from the left side:

This is afterall a work in progress and theres a lot to do cutting and tidying wise so currently it looks quite tatty.

I'm hoping that the left panel will look pukka, if not, ill just cover it with some breathable material.

I'll add to this as and when things get done!
