Me & my XTR after 3000 miles
We have just done 3000 miles together through one of the coldest winters we've had in decades down south. longest journey was 200 miles trip to Cornwall
+ fuel consumption: high 50's mpg in the coldest of winter & town to 60's mpg on nice warm days + Oil consumption: none!! (I must say contrary to what I have read, the oil level in the frame doesn't drop at all even after many day which kind off make sense!) + It is so, so manoeuvrable & agile & the light weight is a blessing for me + No corrosion from winter riding through grit, gravel, salt & snow + Excellent for bad winter conditions because of riding position + Excellent at dealing with our deteriorating tarmac roads + Excellent at coping with our high summer temperatures (27 deg C), never heard the fan to come on (to make sure it worked, had to keep it running inside my garage for few minutes after a ride: it did work) +/- resolved dim headlight by changing to a 50% plus light bulb +/- It is a very fast bike (up to 90 mph) and corners well and catches other road users by surprise!! - Need to dress up 2 layers more in winter compared to my other bike - Very very cold hands!! finally resolved by fitting a pair of tucano muffs; not chic or ideal but they work - Long journey can put extra strain on shoulder muscle if speed is kept above 65 mph - Mine is black and despite headlights being on car drivers don't see me - Would prefer narrower handle bars & more tilted toward me to make standing on the pegs easier If I could only find a rear hugger............... |
