Does anyone have any advice as to which is the best soft luggage combo to use on the XTX? I'm looking to take the bike to IOM next year & would welcome ideas. Use the bike daily to commute & carry a rucksack, which when opened after a 30 mile ride stinks of exhaust fumes (Akropovic minus baffles!). Therefore was thinking of a tank bag + other. Would consider fitting a rack etc, but concerned it would fill up with CO fumes

Have a look at the oxford soft panniers on ebay, at about 40 theyre good value.
I've just come back from lakelands 2010 and mine have done the job just fine again.

I can get some used H&B Pannier racks...what are my (cheaper!) luggage options?
Used hard panniers ..obviously...but they are still pricey even used....could I fit any make of HARD pannier? Do the Oxford-type of SOFT pannier need a rack? or are they better with a rack? (I don't have exhaust shields)

Hi,
I've bought and used the Kriega products with great satisfaction. I got a set of US-10+US-20 bags and a tank strap. The latter I had to mount in reverse direction but works quite fine. Bags fit like a dream. Looking into their other range right now. /Joel
