Kriega for panniers ?

has anyone used the 20 ltr Kreiga bags as side panniers on a tenere ?

They seem to offer a lot of good points - they are pricey but I figure they are very well made - I imagine they are slim too

any pictures would be great to see the fit etc.

I think the colours would look great on my black ten too.

Using old miltary webbing bags at the mo - but they soak up the rain

Hi Stuxtttr..

I used the 20Ltr Kreigers last year to go to Glastonbury.. They were a bit of a faff to put on but it's probably down to me over engineering the way I mounted them. I had straps running everywhere!! There's a pic below but the quality is probably a bit rubbish!

I've since spoken An Army guy who has ued them normally but now uses them solidly mounted on a home made pannier frame. He did this by taking out the liner and having a plate inside that he had bolted on. I wish I'd taken some pics. If I see him again later this year I'll try to remember... I think this would be really easy to do on the holan or MM type frames. I asked him if he's had any off with them and he pretty much said they were bullet proof even when sliding down the road.

I have a US 20, I've also had in the past the R35 rucksack and even after lots of use they still look like new - I thin it was Diaccord who purchased the R35 off me, and to my knowledge it's still going strong. Very well made kit is Kriega.

One great point about the USx stuff is it all interconnects, so you can use a US20 as a tailpack, then clip a US to each side, or one to the top, or one to the side and a fuel can (I have a GULG-o-tech webbing harness for the 5l fuel can) to the other. With the Tank harness you can then have many combinations of tankbag too. It's very very flexible.

I'll be using my US20 as a tail pack for Portugal in a couple of weeks and I can get all my clothes for a couple of weeks in there and use the US10 for carry the electronic gizmo's.

Yup, still got it and very impressed with it. Its done 20-25k miles or so over 1.5 winters and still looks like new with no problems whatsoever. I did 100 miles daily with a laptop and various other bits and bobs in it.

I also have a US10 and tank harness which I use occasionally which is also exceptionally well made. If you want quality gear its about the best I can recommend.
