DNA stage 2 (3) air box cover

Okay, questions again.

I have fitted all the three stages of the DNA system to my Tenere.

The side filter is open to the elements? When it rains or gets' caked in mud how will this affect the bike? Have any of you damaged one yet? The more I look at the filter the more I have to question the design? So vunerable, no?

The inner filter is also not such a tight fit as the Original and can move a little? How do I fix this or is it okay as it is?

Still waiting for the power commander to arrive.

The sound the Tenere now makes, to me, sounds rather a retrograde step? I know it is a personal choice and personally I dislike the noise, sounds like a diesel on steroids, lol. Will the addition of the power commander change the sound?

My next venture must be to get the bike lowered, at least untill I have more confidnence to drive it well. Biggest obstacle at present is this bloomin rain, not seen a rain free 24hours since the beginning of October! Grrr

Best wishes to one and all.

Ryland unless your bike gets submerged in water up to your blx you can rest assured that no water will enter your airbox, and not even mud and cakes will get through the flter compound media.

You can remove the filter after throwing cakes at it, wash it under the tap and re-generate the filter with the oil kit.

You are safe. These filters are ok for water spray, but not jet water from the car wash and not when snorkling under water.

I found the same problem - the simplest thing is to put a large rubber O ring (or similar) in the base of filter support inside the airbox, replace the filter and everything should snug up nice and tight...

PC won't make any difference to the sound - what you can hear now is the induction 'roar' a little more - basically with the snorkle gone and the side panel filter, you can hear the air being sucked into the engine more clearly...
