Carbon Cans
Well I'm one chuffed bastid!! I've finally fitted my carbon cans & love 'em
They are even louder than I expected and thats with the baffles still on!! They pop, crackle and spit flames like >>>> BUT! After firing them up & giving it a bit of gas, the bike kept stalling It did smell kind of rich, but after going for a 25 minute ride they seemed ok. Didnt stall but felt slightly hesitant a couple of times when accelerating, so Im thinking it might have had something to do with the mapping/fueling/CO2 (dont know what its called) Is there a foolproof way of smoothing things out or should I get a pro to deal? Or will it just get better in time & adjust itself? Sorry for the brainless questions! Vid coming soon... |

Normally I would say.... lol,
Ask Kev but you would have to be part of the XT-Supporter to do that, otherwise have a go at fixing it yourself by checking the fuelling fix under the PERFORMANCE AND ENHANCEMENT threads.
Good luck. When in doubt, become an XT-Supporter and feel free to ASK KEV, he will direct you to the core of the problem in no time. Cheers |

Doh, trust me to put the cans on just after the forum change. Yeah I'm gonna make the contribution once I sort a paypal account for myself, my sister is sick of me using hers!
I'll have a look at the other threads to try figure this one out. |

Stalling can be adjusted by increasing the idle speed, brass screw on the left side of the throttle body, also you can adjust the tps but that is a little bit more complicated and you will need Kev's assistance.
A fuel mixture that has become too rich can be altered by using the dash buttons as explained in the fuelling fix but what you might need, if all fail is to fit a Kev Mod, see this link here http://www.captnmoto.co.uk/20603.html you can make it yourself if you are good with electrical elements or you can buy one from Kev directly. Also note when you fit after market cans, your bike will naturally burn fuel better and faster, which should be compensated with a greater air intake, and it is advisable to fit after market filters such as K&N or DNA stage 1 & 2. Before you do anything read the Performance thread like a bible. Good luck |
