best pipes

hi, which are the best after market cans for xt660x (2009).
i was fancying some black beowulfs which i was told by yam dealer would go straight on with no mods, then speaking to the mechanic at same dealers he said i'd have to fit a power commander as well. which is making it very expensive.
not being mechanically minded (i'm even having problems fitting hand guards yeah i'm that useless) i don't want to go down the road changing all settings etc.
i've seen some of the mods and would love to be able to do but i've more chance platting fog.
i'm after a bit more power low down, really hate the way it chokes up in 1st and 2nd.
someone suggested taking the cats out off exhaust but now found out thats a bit impractable.
any help be great
cheers nige

Nige if you are after some extra HP fit a stage 2 DNA filter, easy to fit. The XT is choked more from the inlet side, then the Exhaust side.

thanks kev,
is this easy to do? as said i'm pretty useless with anything mechanical etc.
where would i get it and any idea of price?
i did look into getting k&n filter but yam dealer said it would be a waste of money.
he suggested changing sprockets and pipes.
i'm happy with top end (can't afford to get done for speeding for next 5 years HA) just want a bit better in 1st and 2nd.
cheers nige

100% do filters before pipes. Cost less and you get more bang for your buck. Possibly the easiest mod to do as well.
