I tested a XTX -10 swingarm on my XTR -07

Hello

Had some problem about the front fork swap but I did my own way and it works perfect. Then I wondering about swingarm swap t was a little tricky to find info about that. Got a document from KEV I could work! thanks

I wanted the new swingarm from the XT660X in alu. I borrow a swingarm from a guy here in Sweden think his XTX was a 2010, he had let a workshop take of the paint therefore the silver color. Everything worked fine. The swingarm axle was bolt on, the spacers to my XTR was the same as his the only thing it won,t fit was the wheel axle because the arm is wider. The brake and sprocket fitted correct. My steel swingarm weights about 6-6,5kg and his Alu about 5kg and it is a little bit shorter than my swingarm in steel. Yes the Brake hos is a little bit short but is no problem thinking about let it go on the top of the swingarm like KTM. My 18" rim and my MITAS C-02 120/90-18 fits better with the XTX swingarm than my so hope to find one for sale, if anyone got one alu swingarm give me a PM. Here is the pics!

Best ever looking XT I've seen since offtheroad XT...

I have a 48 YZ forks waiting for my XT and looking for a 07 swingarm in bare aluminium too. It looks like the Yamaha works swingarm in Peterhansel YZE!

Do you know how many cm are between swingarm axle and rear wheel axle in forward position?? Is it longer or shorter than the steel one?

Thanks!

Thanks a lot
Sorry I just tested it and don,t got it anymore but the XTX swing is deeper so my 18" with the Mitas tire above fits better and probably no problem with winter tire with spikes. I can,t mount that kind of winter tire with stock steel swingarm it will touch the front of the swingarm

I won a black swingarm yesterday on ebay so will mount that one until I find a XTX swingarm

Ok, so the alu swingarm is a bit longer than the steel one. This swingarm will increase the XTR wheelbase... that's not good for me. Anyway, if is only 1 or 2 cm its not a big problem. In case you (or anyone that is reading this) can measure the lenght of the alu XTX swingarm, please let me know.
Thanks!

Yes I measure it the total length I did show that XTX is about 1,5-2cm shorter than the steel one but it is deeper if I compare the free gap between my tire and front center of my swingarm like the last picture but it is not so much but it is better fit for my 18" wheel with 90 profile tire. A black alu swingarm would be a perfect match.

It is bolt on BUT my dogbones ears who raise my XTR was too wide so had to cut them little to fit the alu swingarm but never tested stock dogbones.
