thinking of getting a Garmin montana 650. ive never owned any sat nav and im confused about Ram mounts e.t.c

I want something well made so it will survive on the trails and also to be secure.

Do you have to buy the powered Garmin mount & another mount (like Touratech?) and combine the two? i really dont never anything about this...any info welcome.
