Had a chat with the Michelin Rep at the dirt bike show about these boots, sure enough they are an alternative to the TKC80.
How do you find the price though compared?
Have you used TKC80 before the T63?

thanks for the heads up - what are they like in the wet? and do they make much noise or affect MPG much?

EDIT, sorry if these are stupid Q's- never had trail tyres before.

"sounds" at slow speeds 40-55 a bit like a army land rover but at 85-100mph i don't know i can't hear a thing. "mpg" i have never tested it. but ok when wet and in snow, i am taking my bike to western sahara this year in fact june so these tyre's will be fine for the job...

Looked on the Michelin web site and it looks like they are no longer in production.... Anyone know any different?

They are still in production but you have to look in the "small" motorcycle section on their website. Here you go:

Hmmm, it is really bad when the tyre breaks away. I have the T63 on my Tenere now for 3500km. I love them and I feel very save especially in case of wet streets. Yes there is some noise but I like it and offroad it doesnt matter. I used them also for a trip to Slovenia - with panniers and tent and and and... packed onto the Tenere - there was/is no problem with the tyres.
I feel good with the T63 and i'm looking forward how much km i can do with them...

Cheers
Thomas

Hi Ernibert - I'm glad you've found no problems with the T63, as you say, for primarily off-road use I'm sure they will work well on the Tenere... I'd just be concerned if anyone planned to do a lot of high speed road miles on them, as Michelin suggest they are for smaller (lightweight) off-road bikes, rather than the weight of the Tenere perhaps?

Personally I still think the TKC80 is the definitive all-round on/off road tyre for this bike?
