Question Handlebar Riser Purchase/Installation

Hey All,

I'm preparing to buy couple of handlebar riser for my XTR. There are two caught my eye so far, this and that.

First, after reading few posts here, I have some doubts in buying at OTR. But touratech should no better than that in terms of shipping, ain't it?

Anyway, real problem is something about me. I'm not kindda technician type you know, I'm not very comfortable or talented with the tools somehow. However, I really would like to install it by myself. I was wondering if I can fit the cables after mounting the risers. I've checked my bike, but they seemed so tight to me that like I couldn't move them even a little higher.

I know some of you had done it before, by any chance do you guys have any step-by-step photos :P Well, at least some tips&trick would do the trick.

I will post how I performed in time.

Thanks in advance for who takes time and post answers.

Before you think about ordering from OTR you should consider the fact that Thorsten will charge A LOT for secure delivery. I wanted to order a DNA stage 2 from him but didn't cos he quoted me something like €40 for delivery!!! He does not do regular post outside of the EU anymore because of problems in the past.

Where in Istanbul are you, maybe we can go for a ride sometime as soon as Spring sticks its head around the corner

I have the same problem as you, my cables all seem to be very tight on the bike with out adding risers, or even different bars on. I cant understand how some people are able to add them with out any problems and other cant/shouldnt as it will just not work !!!!

Bu ne guzel bir karsilama, tesekkur ederim Deniz

Thanks for the clue, so, would you suggest touratech.de? Or do you know any other place to buy risers from?

I'm still hoping that lucky pals here would shed some light on our way Maxwell.

don't you mates?

(I'm in Kadikoy, and thought it's not so necessary to wait until Spring to ride together Denny )

You're right pencuse but my back tyre is bald, the sprocket and chain needs changing, the valves need checking, the oil & filter need changing, the cushes need replacing, I have some of kev's spacers I need to fit...............

ahhh, forgot to mention that Mototas (or was it Mototal) are importers of Touratech products, I'll post a link when I get home (Sorry if you knew that already?)

Great tip pal, I didn't know that Mototas imports touratech parts. I've already sent them an email to see if they have any in their stock. But anyway, I'll check the shop during the weekend.

Still curious about how would I handle cabling though. ~

Do you think Kev would help on that? :P
